Chesterfield is famous for the ‘Crooked Spire' of its Parish Church. Legends surround it but the truth hinges on the weight of the lead tiles that cover the Spire’s wooden framework – all 32 tons of them! Chesterfield's other claim to fame is its open air market, one of the largest in the country. There are markets on Monday, Friday and Saturday all year, with a Flea Market every Thursday and a Farmers’ Market on the 2nd Thursday of every month. Saturday 20th March will be the opening of an exhibition of photographs demonstrating how the Ashby TIC has developed over the last 21 years. There will be a photo opportunity on 25th March for the Chairman of the Council and special guests and an ongoing competition for our customers which be finalised on Saturday 3rd April which is our 21st birthday. We will be launching our new Ashby TIC leaflet and starting a publicity campaign for our new web site, facebook and twitter www.somewherenicetogo.co.uk The Ashby de la Zouch TIC staff are responsible for updating this site, and urge you to support us.
