Our staff will be dressing as pirates for the week and we encourage you to as well! The week will be started with a diver going in to the Ocean Tank ~ home to one of the largest collections of tropical sharks in Europe ~ for a photo call with the British Tourism Week logo. Why are Pirate's called Pirates? Because they aaaaaarrrrrrrrggh!

Prices will be £7.25 for an adult (usually £14.50), £5.13 for a child, £6.25 for a senior or student and £4.00 for a visitor with a disability and for their carer. Please note that already discounted prices such as family tickets are not included in this promotion and it cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Road Directions from the North (Skipton) - Follow A59. After passing the turning for Chatburn/Downham, take the second turning on the right signed “Clitheroe, A671”. At first roundabout turn left Chatburn Rd. At next roundabout turn right, then at the following roundabout keep straight on signed “Waddington, Longridge”. Follow road around sharp left hand bend - do not follow Waddington road under bridge. Follow Castle Museum designated brown parking signs.

Leave the M6 at jct 33 or 34 and follow signs for Lancaster city centre. Follow the signs for the A6 north from the city centre and turn left in St George's Quay just before reaching the bus station. Lancaster Maritime Museum is located about half a mile along the quayside.

We are aiming to raise the profile of the TIC as THE place to come in Blackpool to find out about all the events. To do this we will hold a competition which will be communicated via trade and consumer eblasts, social networking and local media outlets. Entrants will be requested to hand in their entry at the Tourist Information Centre on Clifton Street. As part of the celebrations, we will also be seeking the support of our local MPs and projecting the British Tourism Week logo onto a huge screen as part of our nightime light shows.
