The event is a Scottish contribution to the "VisitBritain" initiative, Party on the Pier. It is organised by the Scottish Fisheries Museum (SFM) and presented by members of the SFM Boats Club and the SFM St Ayles Rowing Club. The centre of activity will be at the museum's boatyard on the shore opposite the outer harbour at Anstruther.
The programme is as follows:
11.00am - Event opens, with stalls (sale of souvenirs, home bakes and quality jumble) and information about the museum's boat collection (continues to 4.30pm).
12.00noon - Naming ceremony for the newly finished skiff built at the museum. To be named ST AYLES, she will be christened by Mrs Jessie Anderson, who is approaching her 99th birthday and has lived in Anstruther for 92 of them! (Museum's newest boat named by [probably] Anstruther's oldest resident).
4.00pm - Launch of newly named ST AYLES skiff.
7.30pm - Film show at the Irskine Hall: The Ealing Studios comedy about the puffer THE MAGGIE. £5 charge.
